The Navi Mumbai Worldwide Airport might be named after Shiv Sena founder late Bal Thackeray, the daddy of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, it was introduced on Thursday. The airport, developing in neighbouring Navi Mumbai, is anticipated to alleviate the strain on the Mumbai worldwide airport.
Some native politicians had demanded that the brand new airport be named for farmer chief late D B Patil. City Improvement Minister Eknath Shinde, who made the announcement, stated the chief minister has assured the DB Patil Motion Samiti, which is elevating this demand, that another venture might be named after the farmer chief. “We have a lot of respect for D B Patil. The chief minister has requested the action committee to recommend any other project (to be named after Patil),” stated Shinde, a senior Shiv Sena chief.
“One meeting has taken place (with the committee) and one more will take place. A positive outcome is expected,” he stated. CIDCO, the state-run planning company which is executing the greenfield airport venture, proposed that or not it’s named after Bal Thackeray, he stated.
