The Indian Institute of Know-how (IIT) Madras might be launching a tech journal, ‘IIT Madras Shaastra,’ to function a platform to showcase achievements in science, expertise, and innovation in India and overseas. The objective of the journal is to allow knowledgeable conversations between trade, academia, and policymakers. Supported by over 50,000 alumni, IIT Madras goals to assist take scientific developments to a wider neighborhood.
The journal’s print version will come out each two months. The net model will also be accessed on-line at shaastramag.org.
Developed by an expert group, Shaastra is ready to carry an Indian solution-driven perspective to developments in science and expertise and their influence on society, stated the IIT.
Elaborating on the target behind popping out with this S&T journal, Prof. Srikanth Vedantam, School, Division of Engineering Design, IIT Madras, and Chair of Editorial Board, Shaastra, stated, “It is intended to serve as a platform to showcase the best science, technology, and innovation, with the goal of enabling informed conversations between industry, academia, and policymakers.”
The primary journal is anticipated to be launched shortly and can give attention to Indian scientists’ efforts to decode the Covid-19 virus utilizing cutting-edge science and superior expertise in addition to to make use of that data to formulate future vaccines in opposition to related pandemics, the IIT stated.
Commenting on the launch of the journal, Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras stated, “Many institutes run journals, which contain academic peer-reviewed papers. But this is a different endeavour. Shaastra is a Science, Technology and Innovation magazine, something that was missing from India – and the entire world is our canvas. It will present an India-centric view.”
