Hockey India Mourns Demise of Former Participant George Fernandez

Hockey India on Monday mourned the demise of former participant George Fernandez, who was battling COVID-19 in Bengaluru. The 67-year-old died on Sunday on account of problems associated to the illness.

“We at Hockey India are deeply saddened to study in regards to the premature demise of George Fernandez, who represented our nation on the Junior stage,” HI president Gyanendro Ningombam mentioned in a press launch.

“We extend our deepest condolences to his family in this moment of grief.”

Fernandez, a former Assistant Customs Commissioner (Karnataka), had represented the Indian junior staff in 1975 enjoying as a ahead.
